🎨 3 days of art, technique, and beauty in the heart of Versilia
Discover the ancient art of fresco painting in a city where art and tradition are evident at every turn. Taught by Franco Pagliarulo, an artist working with fresco painting for over 30 years.
📅 When: October 10, 11, and 12, 2025
📍 Where: Bottega d’arte di Franco Pagliarulo, Pietrasanta (LU)
👥 Participants: max 6 people – suitable for beginners and advanced
⏳ Duration: 3 days – (10:30 am – 1:00 pm, 2:30 pm – 7:30 pm)
Program
Day 1 – Introduction and Research
-Brief history and secrets of fresco painting
-Visit to Casoli, the town of sgraffiti
-Each participant defines their own artistic project
-Preparation of the arriccio and study of the surface
Day 2 – From drawing to material
-Each participant defines their own artistic project
-Preparation of the cartone for the spolvero
-Guided walk to discover frescoes in the city: works by Fernando Botero, Romano Cosci, and Igor Mitoraj
-Day 3 – Realizing the fresco
-Preparation of the plaster and veil on terracotta tiles
-Transfer of the drawing using the spolvero technique
-Fresco painting with natural pigments
-Each participant will take home their own painting
Materials included – experience is not required, just a desire to create.
